Dates 2026, place and offers for children in sixteen cities.

Home › Winter › Weihnachtsmärkte

Lights over the square, stalls full of Christmas decorations and for the children a carousel, an ice rink or a Santa Claus house: the Christmas holidays start as early as November. We have already done the research for you. For sixteen cities in Eastern Europe, we have selected when the market will be open in 2026, where it stands and what children can experience there.

Most major Christmas markets in Eastern Europe open between 13 and 28 November 2026 and run until the end of December or early January. Budapest, Brno and Sibiu open early (13 November); Gdańsk already closes on 23 December. The nice part: all the dates below come straight from the official websites of the cities or organisers (checked on 21 October 2026), so you can plan with real information instead of rumours.
