Privacy and cookie statement

In brief
- You do not need to create an account, and there are no forms or newsletters.
- We do not place advertising cookies. Only if you give consent in the cookie banner do we use Microsoft Clarity to measure how the site is used.
- A few external services are technically necessary to display the site. They are listed below.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages), which also provides the domain name (DNS). As with any website, Cloudflare processes technical data to deliver the pages and to secure the site, such as your IP address, the time and the page requested. We do not use this data to track visitors. Cloudflare may also process data outside the EU. More information is available in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Visitor statistics: Microsoft Clarity (only with consent)
If you give consent in the cookie banner, we load Microsoft Clarity from Microsoft. It shows us how visitors use the site so that we can improve it: which pages you view, how you scroll and where you click (including on links to partners), and technical data such as device, browser, screen size and an approximate location based on your IP address. Clarity can also show visits as a session recording and a click map. Without consent we do not load Clarity and no data is sent to Microsoft.
Clarity places cookies, including _clck and _clsk on our site and CLID (and possibly others, such as MUID) from Microsoft. Microsoft determines how long those cookies and the data are kept. Microsoft may process data outside the EU, including in the United States. See the Clarity cookie list and the Microsoft privacy statement.
The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw or change it at any time via at the bottom of every page. We store your choice in the local storage (localStorage) of your own device.
Fonts
The fonts on this site are hosted on our own site and loaded from there. Your browser does not contact Google or any other external font service for this, and no data is passed on to Google.
Local storage on your own device
If you tick off items on the packing list, your browser remembers this in the local storage (localStorage) of your own device. This data is not sent to us. You can erase it with the button on the packing list or via your browser settings.
Search
The search function works entirely in your browser, using files from our own site. Your search terms are not stored or sent to us.
Links to other sites and affiliate links
We link to other websites, such as official sources, campsites and shops. Some links are affiliate links (see the disclaimer). If you click a link, you go to that party's site. That party or an affiliate network may place cookies there, for example to attribute a booking to us. That party's privacy and cookie policy applies.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We do not share them with others and do not keep them longer than necessary. Our email is hosted by TransIP.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object. Email [email protected] for this. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If we start using something different, such as another hosting provider, we will update this statement. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
